Attached is a scan of an 1899 US Soldier's Letter From Philippines with unknown Aguinaldo issue attached to the letter. Also the envelope it was sent in unfortunately minus the stamp. Any help in identifying this item would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is a large specialists collection at the Smithsonian.

Thanks for your reply. Have many other Aguinaldo's including cpl sheets but have never been able to find anything on this issue. Tried the Smithsonian - no luck there.

I looked at the container inventory of the Col. Hans Lagerloef Collection - did not find it in the listed inventory. Checked further reading also not mentioned - a real stumper. Pretty sure letter and stamp authentic just unable to identify stamp. Thanks for your help - had tried to search Smithsonian before no luck - at least your post led me to the right place, though no luck. Thanks again for help, any further ideas are greatly appreciated. Have had this item for about 40 years and never found anything on it.

EFB = Ejercito Filipinas De Bisayan (Visayan)

Perhaps the stamp is a provisional from the revolutionary (or immediate post-) period?

Solved
(Due regard to SCF member classic paper, whom led me to this)
If your article is genuine, I'd suggest you have something very valuable at hand.
Good Luck !

That sure looks like it. Thanks very much to both of you - 40 years of wondering about this item finally solved. The letter always intrigued me with the stamp attached. But never found any info regarding the stamp before. Thanks again.

I just purchased an inexpensive cover for the Australian stamps, but just found out that it was sent to Colonel Hans Lagerloef. Just something else to add to this thread.
