Can you provide some pictures to show the scope of the collection. It is one binder or 200 binders, all Mexico, or all antarctic, just butterflies, pre-1950 stuff, only stamps, stamp on envelopes ( called "covers") and similar postal history. So detail is need to help direct your question.
That said as to general value, less than 10% of stamps carry most of the retail value of stamps as a whole. Catalogs set a minimum value per stamp to cover a stamp dealers time. But at 25 cents each, 1000 such stamps may sell for a couple of bucks.
