A few weeks ago someone asked for any analysis of sales by alphabet ie. Do "A" countries sell more than "B" countries. Initially I didn't see and value in such an analysis but then I thought of how often I see collections for "A-C" or "M-S" listed in auction catalogs and I realized I could use this information if I had it.

I have a large database of my ebay sales since 2014 and without too much trouble I was able to analyze the sales from over 60 collections that I broke down into 16,000+ items. The analysis is presented below;

The letter "U" has the highest average $ sales because it includes the US and I've sold some high priced US collections from Scott International albums, "J" is high because I had a couple expensive Japan items. The rest seems to be what I would expect.

That matches my Worldwide Countries box, that holds my "To Scan" envelopes.

"S" is by far the most extensive grouping of countries 13%
followed closely by
'M"
"C" and
"B"

9% each

Interesting analysis. Out of curiosity, how did you classify those entities that changed names e.g., Union of South Africa vs Republic of South Africa, Belgian Congo vs Zaire vs Democratic Republic of Congo or Yugoslavia (Jugoslavia) vs all of the parts it broke into, etc.

I sorted by the name I used in the auction listing. When I list a group of pages I generally use the name shown on the pages.
