When I run into a set of covers from the same town/city, it is sometimes tempting to pull out 1-2 of the best strikes for my collection and send the rest along others.

But sometimes keep a series of covers since they might allow future owners to piece together a better understanding of cancels from a specific town/city.

Here is a series from Aurora, Illinois

Nice. I'll do that with sequences of documents (mostly checks, but occasionally receipts or billheads) I encounter that may have similar revenue usages/cancels, but make for an interesting or aesthetic grouping.
