The mounts are integral to the Lindner page, not added by a collector - the black element is paper, displaying the image, not part of the mount.

Could this be an example of the classic Lindner Falzlos?

compared to their current T-system

My advice is start with the least expensive stamps on the bad pages. Since it appear that you are going to cut the mounts on the first few bad pages, are you going to try a salvage the "good, flat" pages in the rest of the album? If not, you have the entire album to practice on. Practice, practice, practice...

NSK, that first image is the one. I wish I had the T-system version!

wkusau, the plan is to completely remove all the stamps from this album and remount eventually in a new album. I'm thinking about flattening the ones that are warped/bent and storing them in a stockbook in the interim. You are absolutely right about getting practice in, I will try the flatter pages (with the cheaper stamps) first to get an idea on what I am dealing with. Thanks for your advice.

Alright, so here's a quick update. I had time to test out one of the removal methods on the cheapest page of the album. Like most of the suggestions here, this is a destructive method and I am okay with that since I am not keeping these album pages.

I tried something very similar to what rogdcam said- I figured since the clear plastic covering of the mount wouldn't budge and is woven underneath the paper, I could cut a small line through the paper near (but not too close to) the mount and it should relieve the tension without cutting too close and damaging the stamp.

I used a small xacto knife and carefully cut a parallel line about 2-3cm away from the mount, on the paper itself, and as I predicted I had hit the plastic that was hidden underneath the paper and it was effortless to remove the stamp. I did this for the whole page, and if my first cut didn't hit the hidden plastic, I kept trying on all four sides until it worked.

I'll keep working on the rest of the album and share any other thoughts when I am done. Thanks again everyone for your help.
