I thought Londonbus had a thread under
"Stamp Exhibitions" I could not locate it.

A lovely gift amongst ephemera from Collin (Thank you )

1930 APS label.
It's a bit of an enigma, I know there are four in the set,
but that's about all.
I could find no information, on the exhibition, or the engraver
McKenzie Engraving Co Boston.

I find it hard to understand how they produce such an expensive looking label, for such a thing as an exhibition, and to boot
right around the time of the US stock market crash.
I guess it must have been produced as part propaganda for
the engraving business.

A beautiful specimen, none the less.

That is AMAZING for a label, way better than some of the regular stamps of the time!

Yep, I have to re-read my history,
I had always thought the Mayflower was the original Puritan Vessel,
this was news to me with the Arbella.
...back to wiki for me.

Your item on the 1930 NAPEX jogged my memory about this item I have from a 1947 stamp show in New York.

And just to make things interesting, what are the four countries that are alluded to in this stamp and who are the two gentlemen with QV?

...and these beautiful stamps just keep on coming

Thanks for sharing.

Of course I had QV, and the coat of arms of Switzerland,
but the rest, well I had to cheat
so I won't let on.

I would have never picked them though.

I would guess that the gentleman to the right is President Polk. The other ??? Three of the four countries then are GB, US Switzerland and ??? Could the fourth be Brazil and the gentleman the President of Brazil at the time?

I'm lucky enough to have one on cover. I'll try to dig it out tomorrow and post it. No idea on the SCA though.

A beautiful cancel, a great slogan postmark, a lovely cinderella, correct postage and in date. Enjoy.
