STAMP THIEF CAUGHT.
At an Open Day held recently in Brisbane, one of the dealers present
noticed that certain valuable items were missing from a stockbook.
The matter was reported to the President, who made an
announcement.
Another dealer suggested that one member be asked to turn down his
socks. This was done and two packets of stamps came to light. On
checking, they were found to contain some of the missing stamps.
The matter was reported to police.
A prominent citizen, a member of the Committee of the Society, has
since tendered his resignation.
Names of the Society and persons concerned in the incident have
been withheld pending the outcome of possible court proceedings.
