You can look on ebay for these stamps. No need to buy catalogs or go to the library. If the two you have shown are the best of the lot you likely have very little value given that they are stained, damaged and poorly centered.

I have many more I have at least 30 sheets of stamps from 1940 in luxembuorg and germany, Big sheets of stamps from christmas of 1940 and 1960 usa. Wayner was wrong you did hear from me again

1940 Luxembourg stamps are very new, and of little value. There might be one or two good ones in there ... only posting a full page scan will help us get started.

Christmas stamps from US, if not yet used (mint), are probably best used for postage. You can sometimes get 50-75% of face value for them from some dealers.

So, we can't help you with any more detail until we see better scans, but the outlook is just that you found/obtained stamps that have very little resale value. Best to use them for postage, or donate. (My input.)

U.S. did not issue a Christmas stamp until 1962, so you might be looking at Christmas seals.

Seahound, almost all US stamps are still valid for postage.

Seahound, I am glad that you are sticking with this and not giving up. Many join up here just to ask how to sell off this burden of stamps left to them. It takes some time to learn about them, but I wish I had discovered stamps 40 years ago.
