482A is an entirely different design. Look at "TWO CENTS" at the bottom. Your stamp is from the 1908 design series. Since it was imperforated to begin with it is either 344 (double line watermark) or 384 (single line watermark). It is privately perforated by Schermack. The question is what is the watermark. Either way the catalog value is $1.40.

Thanks… I wasn't paying attention and was looking for the perforation that matched.

The watermark is impressed in the paper, and you may be able to see it by dipping the stamp in lighter fluid such as Zippo and looking at the backside of the stamp against a black background. Stamp Smarter has a wealth of info on how to do this and what to look for.

He can't watermark it unless he soaks it off. Before he destroys the cover, may I ask the date of the cancel? That might identify the issue.

Miklerx, If we could see the entire cover, the postal historians would be very happy. Many covers have value over and above the stamp itself. BTW, you did a good job with the initial photo.
