Question for Bee See: as my English is limited, so, can you explain me the meaning of "corgi times" on your listing? |

"Corgi Times" is a fascinating book about the Royal Family that is subtitled "It's all a dog's life." |

The BNAPS British North America Philatelic Society has many study groups. One of them is the Elizabethan II Study Group (ESG). Their journal is called The Corgi Times. = = = = from their web site = = = Why is our journal called the Corgi Times? Queen Elizabeth II has several Corgis. This is the continuation of a long family tradition begun by her father, King George VI. Corgis have since become a symbol of the present royal family. = = = = = = = http://www.adminware.ca/esg/index.htm= = = = Corgis (the most popular being the Pembroke Welsh Corgis) are, by the way, a breed of small dog. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pembroke_Welsh_Corgi |

I am not sure why, but the Blue 1 with the serial number is the hardest to find. |

List on Page 5 Page 1 of this topic/thread now has 179 numbers in it. Changes made according to an update from Bee See also, which actually straightens up the 1's and 2's occurring out of order. Nice. Data sent to Bee See for his database. edit: Many thanks to ebay sellers cebos in Canada for his kind co-operation and numbers and anne1935horses in the United Kingdom who responded to me letting me know she had received some booklets from Canada Post Philatelic Centre that had control numbers (6-digit) or Blue 1 or 2's cylinder numbers. She had unfortunately sold then before I contacted her. Anyone who has received any booklets with 6-digit numbers from the Philatelic Centre, I would be very interested in knowing where those numbers fall in the list. Mixed up like the other's distribution seemed to be or all together? |

@Moonbird
I would be interested in the Blue 1 014543 or 014413. What would you prefer? Money, trade? I only have canadian stamps. Is there something in particular that you collect? |

I have just (after two months delay, sorry) looked through the 15 booklets I have remaining and found 5 with some kind of offset printing on the back.
It looks like a blue ink (perhaps this colour dries slowest?) was transferred whilst the sheets / booklet panes were being piled from off the printing press.
The printing on the back of only one of the five is rather pronounced (will scan later) and is shifted upwards in relation to the printing on the obverse (other side) of the stamps.
More noticeable on the right-hand four stamps than on the left-hand four, but all stamps had some kind of impression left.

Scan of the booklet that has the most noticeable offset printing or transfer (not sure of proper terminology): Please note that the scans have had their exposure setting darkened and then darkened again in order to show up on screen. To the naked eye the extra ink is only slightly noticeable but under 8x+ magnification it shows up clearly. The backs of top right two stamps in the booklet. The outlines of the animals seem to be drawn in a dark blue ink, this is printed 9.5 mm above where the animals are on the fronts. Note that the actual animals on the fronts do have a dark blue outline themselves. This is from the below booklet number: (I need to update my page 5 page 1 list on these now.) |
