I see your update Puzzler. I have 226 on my list on brcStamps.com versus your 223 - I will have to compare them tonight.

I found these missing on my list
014472, 014473, 048058, 051547

You are missing 014665, LO, 1, none, Halifax, NS, which I added as I went along, finding it here and noticing that I had not included it in the list. My boo boo.

You have 036747 which may be a mistake (?) from David (djd)'s post from Medicine Hat, Ab.
Original post of page 7
035824
036670
036847
036848
037784
037785
perhaps entered as 36847 or besides.

Your 090657 should be changed to 091657, my original mistake again, sorry.

The somewhat absent and absent-minded puzzling captain. lol

Wait, I smell ice cream! This way, follow me . . . . .

In other news, ice cream prices have taken a sudden jump over the past weeks, as roving bands of stamp collectors have continue to raid ice cream shops everywhere.

I have been scanning some of these booklets at different resolutions (200,600,800,1200 dpi) for easier study.

I noticed that on most of the booklets I have examined so far (not all) there seems to be a pattern of recurring lightness and darkness.

Most booklets have the left-hand block of stamps being the darkest and the right-hand block of 4 being the lightest.

It is easiest to see when looking at the dark green wave along the bottom of all the stamps.

From booklet with serial #048903 (no cyl #) scanned at 600 dpi resolution.
Dark Upper left pair (Row 1, Column 1 and 2):

Light Upper right pair (R1,C3,4):

Dark Lower left pair (R2,C1,2):

Light Lower right pair (R2,C3,4):

May be not too apparent here but when zoomed in on the dark green wave on the 'dark' stamps seems more solid and the light wave seems like you can see the little white dots in it and it is somewhat translucent (semi-solid) compared to the solid looking ones.

I also noticed that the waves are not joining together on the center stamps (doh) and no elliptical perfs so those pairs or block, even though having bent center perfs, would be rarer than the outer blocks. Takes me a while to notice things.

That is if any pairs survive soaking and sorting and selling. It seems to me that the natural thing is to tear off a block to sell or start to tear again for pairs, human nature being what it is, do the easiest things first.

One booklet I have looked at so far has had the lighter stamps on the left and the darker on the right-hand side.

Further study is needed.

Any new news from anywhere on plating?

I've put a marine life fdc up for sale on ebay, and also one of the Olympic golds.

Well, well, well...I've got something new to show today...

AN EXTRA DOT

It's on a blue 1 with a serial number 014413

It also has a pretty strong offset of a baby porpoise on the last sea otter on the upper right stamp.

I must thank Moonbird for selling methat wonderfull piece. Just received it in the mail today. I guess you didn't know it was there.

I will have to check my booklets when I get home - I wonder if the dot is constant or just a bit of dirt on the cylinder that came and went.

None of mine (of the 20 I have left) have the dot - they do all have the slightly faded green wave on the right stamps as per Puzzler. I guess they are all that way.
