Quote:
Prosimian of Madagascar, a set of WWF stamps and maxicards issued by Madagascar on April 16, 1988:

Greater Bamboo Lemur or Broad-nosed Gentle Lemur (Hapalemur simus)
Diademed Sifaka (Propithecus diadema)
Indri (Indri indri)
Ruffed Lemur (Varecia variegata variegata)

In page 6 of this thread I posted the 1988 WWF set of Madagascar shows different prosimians.

The stamps were reissued in sheet without WWF logo on October 9, 1992 to publicize the national stamp exhibition "ANTANANARIVO '92", held in Antananarivo, Madagascar and the world post day celebrated in that day.

In the above post, I posted my last item in my Prosimian stamp collection. I believe that all my stamps and items are represented in this thread. I will continue to update this thread when I have new stamps and items in my collection. Please, feel free to add your stamps and items to this thread. Thanks.

I just added to my collection a great cover sent from Laos to England franked with a stamp shows the Tarsius spectrum. It is very rare to see real commercial covers from Laos franked with Lao stamps issued between 1980-1999 (mostly printed in Cuba):

I see that Laophil started this thread with Madagascar Scott #C60, the Ring-tailed Lemur (Lemur catta) stamp designed and engraved by Pierre Gandon, so this is a bit of a late addition... but here are a pair of artist's signed die proofs in black and violet-brown respectively (hopefully the scans show the colors adequately):

He also included a few nice plate proofs (trial color essays), so I will just add this one different one:

And finally, a maximum card for the issue (which I already posted over at the maximum card thread, but thought I'd throw it on here as well):

This is a good place, I think, to show this interesting error. I don't believe it's listed in any of the major catalogues. Madagascar (Malagasy Republic) Scott #C90 (Y&T #PA 106) was already posted earlier on this thread, but here is an inverted overprint variety, with a normal version of the stamp shown first for comparison.

(Incidentally, the Indri shown in the last post is now classified as Indri indri, the specific epithet "brevicaudatus" is a junior synonym.)
