it is extremely common. This should have plate numbers in the side margins. Some plates are scarcer than others.

About 21 billion penny reds were printed, so the issue is common enough. Value depends a great deal on the specific plate used to print a particular specimen, so if you an identify that, you'll be in much better shape.

The Postmark appears to be scarce, not listed in the database

396 4-2-2-4 HUNTINGDON (Duplex)

Huntingdon is a market town in the Huntingdonshire district in Cambridgeshire, England. The town was given its town charter by King John in 1205. It was the county town of the historic county of Huntingdonshire. Oliver Cromwell was born there in 1599 and became one of its Members of Parliament in 1628. Wikipedia

Right hand side, I think I may see a "9"
Its position precludes it from having a number before it?
but it may be 9?

It is common for early British stamps to have a cancel covering any plate numbers , then it is valued as the most common value ,specialist don't even keep them .

*In the middle of the 2nd row is an 1880 Queen Victoria 'Provisional.' The others are MacKennals that come with four different watermarks. Two watermarks have some value. The others are available in masses, as does the Victoria stamp..

The plate number for the second penny red (DG) looks to be 137 or 187. The plate number on the original stamp appears to be obscured by the cancellation

Aside from 225 and the unissued 77, most aren't. That isn't where the interest lies.

For me, the interest is in the postmarks.
