Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the overprints on the revalued 1c green Lincoln postal cards? I think I can tell the ones applied by the cancelling machines, but I don't know how to distinguish between the typographed and the offset lithography kinds (UX42 & UX42a). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

See page 42 of the UPSS 2015 edition of the US postal card catalog for a picture of the offset press surcharge.

Indent at the top of the "D" in "DEPT" and often a narrow hole near the bottom of the vertical line in the same "D".

Thank you, that helps! I would assume that this is an offset printing then?

Yes, the scan shows an offset printing.
