The Russians have me stymied again. Help. This one is imprinted "1963" and appears to be cancelled in "63" but I find it nowhere in 'Scotts':

I only collect up to 1960 so please take anything I say after that with a grain of salt.
I can't see much of the picture but it does look like some kind of worker on a work bench ???
How about the series of different workers issued September 29, 1962?
One of them is a worker turning a lathe.
Don't take it to the bank, wait for the experts to report for duty.

Thanks Tony; good effort but, I the catalog colors aren't even close so I don't think that's the one. And Rod, I cleaned up the image so I hope it's better and more helpful.

It's Russia SG 2851 / Scott #2514B Defence of Leningrad: woman making a shell.

Scott lists this under the similar 1961 issue.

Well done cgrotha That's how we like 'em

....and nigelc, giving SG and Scott numbers

Beyond the call of duty...Bravo!

PS. Seeing that lass wearing a coat with long sleeves and cuffs
near the chuck of a spinning lathe, fills me with nightmares.

Occupational Health and Safety is for wimps!

I watched an old piece of footage today about Brooklands racing circuit in the UK that closed decades ago. There were all the old cars, zooming around a banked track at high speed and not a seatbelt in sight. And yes, there was a horrendous crash and a fatality. Ahhh, the good old days?!?!?!?!

Thanks loads Nigel. Without your help and Stan-Gib, of course, I don't know how I ever would have found it. Scott was once again at least inadequate for the task..
