This U436 Postal Stationery Item Has Me Confused

To my hobbyist eye, this item passed through the mail stream. But what is up with the First Day cancel? It is nowhere near the issue date of the U436. It does not have a missing stamp(s). Am I missing something obvious?

Don, I think it also does not have a normal First Day cancel, but I can not read what the cancel says?

That cancel would be familiar to those with WWII cacheted covers as many were created for the event. Yours might be of interest to a specialist collecting in the area as example of commercial first day usage. I don't know that I've seen one before.

I had not seen the note added recently to the Scott catalogs. It is a good addition since the covers create a lot of confusion.

The official announcement card is shown at the bottom of page 1 of this thread:

It appears to be sent by a company who sent a group under cover for remailing at MacArthur. Quite common in later FDCs. No doubt the advertising letter would have said "Here is a cool philatelic item AND let us tell you about our company too." Half commercial and half philatelic.
