I have an 8¢ Statue of Liberty
Liberty Series stamp and see there were 3 versions, one from 1958 and 2 from 1954. Visually identical when veiws on Mystic Stamp website. 1041 + 1041b are flat and rotary respectively and in 1958 the #1042 was printed on Giori press, which could print both colors on a single pass through the press.

I feel sorta uneducated on figuring these all out but lack a resource online that helps discifer stamps that have multiple variations. If anyone know th answer to above or a good resouce other than Mystic Stamp please let me know.

Thanks, John

Click on 'View By Series' and then select 'Liberty' from drop down.

Note the subtle design difference between the 1954 and 1958 stamp (very top of stamp).

Identify the flat plate 1041 and the rotary press 1041B by their plate numbers:

1041:
blue frame nos. = 24912-15 + 926 + 929-930 + 932-933
red vignette nos. = 24916-20 + 935-937 + 939

1041B:
blue frame nos. = 24923-24 + 24928 + 24940 + 24942
red vignette nos. = 24927 + 24938

1042 is a re-design of 1041B. It has only 1 plate number as the Giori press could print both colors at once.
