I am thinking I have Scott U118 or U119 It has a #2 WMK. Very thin paper and not a wrapper. I know determining these shades is difficult . but maybe the die cuts can determine?

Solid background would be helpful but it looks more like soiled/lightly toned dark blue on orange which would make it U116a. Color choice based on the color chart in the UPSS 19th century catalog and is a best guess based on the picture posted. U118, fawn, is a brown and occurs with watermarks 5 or 6. U119, manila, is known with watermarks 0 (no watermark), 7, and 9.

Reminder: manila is a paper type not a color.

Thanks Bill, Yes this didn't feel or look like manila, but I didn't see any orange color shades to match to.

Colors tend to only be consistent (and not always) within a particular issue.

With the usual disclaimer about color issues associated with scanning and display, there are two color charts of US stationery available on this page on Stamp Smarter.

https://stampsmarter.org/learning/S...Posters.html

Open the drawer for 1900-1930.

This were scanned on an uncalibrated Epson Expression 12000XL Photo Scanner at my local library. This should at least provide some relative color comparisons.

Thanks Mike, I have these pages. When I open it there is no reference for a fawn, orange or cream.
