This stamp had come as part of a lot and I'm not entirely sure how to sort it. The paper is very thin and a little stiff, comparative to a thin coat of varnish on tissue paper: thin enough that you can just barely see IRAN through the paper at the bottom.

On the backside, there is the printed frame and mirrored IRAN, apparently so that it could be seen correctly through the paper. Both photos give a good look at the poor perforation.

I'd really appreciate it if someone had some insight on this, especially date of issue; I had found a couple of pictures online, but one dated it 1953 while the other said 1958. Thanks much!

That is a Postal Horn
Sc# Q38 1958 2r
parcel Post Stamp in Blue

I'd suggest the back print has lifted off an album page somehow.

Thank you so much!

I hadn't even thought about it being transfer from a page! That must be why I wasn't getting better results including the printed back in my search queries.

Still only speculation,
have never seen an album page with IRAN inside the border.
But I doubt it is part of the original stamp.

This is listed in SG under Parcel post stamps as SG P1153 (1958) with the following note:
The word IRAN with a black frame is printed in reverse on the back of the above stamps and is intended to show through the stamps when attached to parcels.

Excellent addition, thank you! I suppose they would not have used that tissue-like paper otherwise.
