Green Dragon --- Going to write a seperate article about the subject of "The largest worldwide collections " kind of update on some of the stuff Kenijo wrote about 15 years ago , with some of the pro's and con's that come with that claim or how it should be deterimine in my view point and would like to hear other inputs .

I would like to read the older article Kenijo wrote on largest worldwide collections.

I did a couple different searches but was not able to access the article. All that I found was a link where the search mentioned a 2009 article. But when I clicked on the 'link' all I got was a 2022 article in his blog. Older articles are mented in his blog but I have no idea what to search for in his blog.

Anyway, looking forward to your article. Just let us know where and when it will come out. It should be interesting.

APS just had some articles on collecting the world and mentions the "largest collection in the world" at the Smithsonian? The photograph in the article looks intriguing. Has anyone checked this out. Looking forward to your article too floortrader! I think Keijo's article was "The World is not Enough" and I haven't seen it either. I found out about it too late to order the magazine. Sounds like it was good though.

LANDOQUAKES ----- Your posting hits the first issue that needs to be address.

You read and posted "LARGEST COLLECTION IN THE WORLD " that is not a "collection " at the Smithsonian a accumulation would be a better term to describe it . The same with the Royal Collection of Great Britain ,file cabinets filled by various people who are on payroll for the past 80 years ,so yes they are huge but not a collections ,yes there are parts of other people's collections included but NO THEY ARE NOT COLLECTIONS .

This also holds true with the largest inventory in the world that A & D Stamp and Coin of California had 2 years ago . Their inventory of 594 Red Boxes and 320 sales binders plus over 250 stock binders was the biggest ever as a sale inventory it was bigger than the two mention above the Royal and Smithsonian .

Imagine what Mystic has...I know some pretty large collections have went in that direction. Are they selling all of those or is there a hidden collection there?

Still pushing my goal to add those middle range stamps to a Worldwide Collection there is so many of them I don't have' so this is going to turn into a three or five year effort . I like to say that those are the stamps most worldwide collections are missing . Not expensive stuff but the stuff few worldwide collectors have .

Those are some nice used fairly modern Faroe stamps! How current do you collect Floortrader?

My collection mostly end at 1970 . Since I purchase a few mixture lots each year , I will make album pages for material after 1970 . I don't go out and purchase material after this date but do get a lot of stuff "along for the ride " which is sometimes kept and added to my albums .
