Didn't realize this popular set was scarce used. The stamps look CTO or perhaps favor cancelled from here. |

Agree with both of you ,most likely removed from a FDC .You can see that the cancel July of 1963 is the same as that FDC . |

floor trader, great sets! How did you determine the Ethiopia stamps at bottom were forgeries? |

Floortrader thanks for sharing your sets I enjoy seeing them. Really like the Australian Antarctic set. Question for anyone listening what is the best way to track which stamps I have. Should I use a spreadsheet or a special software? I've gotten so many I've started making the mistake of buying some I already have. |

Hi Kyle might we know you from youtube? I have used excel for more than 20 years to track my collection. I simply track what I have and what I want to have using a single page and one line for each set or single. Some folks get much more involved, incl for example tracking condition and using images. |

KYLE--- There are different ways collectors keep track . Some use a computer print outs ,other use hand written list ,I seen people with a set of catalogs all marked with yellow markers .
Let me give you my screwed system . In 1964 I purchased 25 different French stamps for 25 cents for my collection. In 1967 , I purchased 100 different French stamps for $2.00 . 25 were duplicates . In 1972 I purchased 500 different French stamps for $50.00 ,100 were duplicates . In 1980 I purchased $200.00 French collection many hundreds were duplicates In 1988 I purchased $500.00 French collection ,half the value were duplicates .
As you can see I bought the same 25 French stamps over 5 times ......that is life for a stamp collector |

Track stamps - don't bother. If you end up buying it twice, know that your collection is larger today than it was yesterday. And the more stamps you die with the better you will be in the afterlife. |

Here is a page which needs more explanation . More advance collectors will understand this . There are stamps that seem difficult to get your hands on ,they are the stamps rarely seen in WW collections and even in many country collections . Two things about them you need to understand they can be stamps that get away from you because they sell at a high percentage of catalog or they disappear out of a dealers stock fast . This set would fall into this situation ,try twice to get these and lost in the bidding so was happy when I finally got them . |

Green Dagon --- I never had the desire to have the most stamps , I set a goal to see how far down the path I could go into having decent size worldwide collection . |
