Thanks, everyone. Plenty of countries that I'd like to add to, if I can pick up lots in my price range.

Unfortunately, four of the auctions that I regularly bid with have sales in the first week or so in December. Have to be careful.

A lot more auctions now than there was years ago . Also seeing a lot more lots get passed without bids . It seems we all want the same lots .

Haven't posted any pictures recently because been working on a surprise purchase . Purchase a lot at a stamp auction that I fiqured to fill in a few empty spaces in my collection . It was a after though to purchase it while the auction was running , not very expensive but a lot that could fill those blank spaces on a few pages . Then make back half my money on what I didn't transfer to my pages .

Looked at pictures that was scanned and posted, nothing to get excited about . Plan was to look thru it tomorrow after receiving it , that turned into leaving it for a month under the desk . When I sat down to view it ,what a surprise !

The bundle had in the center a pile of album pages from a Scott International France Offices with all the pages completely filled ,not high price stamps but a lot of the medium price stuff that I was missing . Great way to start a new week and a lot to add to my pages .

Paul, I think I know the auction you're talking about. I purchased several lots for my BB, actually completing a few difficult countries: I'll jump the gun a bit here and show a few of the pages, similar to what you're talking about. These are the front pages, and there are several countries not pictured:

The stamps came from what must have been a complete or really close to completion 1933 or 34 bound version of the Scott Junior International.

This was just a great opportunity- I was close to complete on several of these, and not anywhere near complete on some (Spanish Guinea, Dutch Indies, Curacao, Suriname). All in all, I'm just about at 31,300 in my '47 BB, and was able to add almost 200 stamps with this auction. Darn near impossible to add that many at one time at this point of almost 90% completion.

I'll be selling most of this on Hip in the coming weeks. Thought ya'll might like to see these! Ray

Ray --Very nice pages , lots of difficult stamps , always nice to get something that puts a smile on your face.

I believe comments here are telling new collectors that the joy of collecting and getting to build your collection is still possible ,sure it is going to take time but the satisfaction is life long .

GeoffHa, I also had full pages of Fernando Po, Cape Juby (not the difficult page, though), and approval cards with complete La Aguera and Rio de Oro. I only needed one to complete Rio de Oro, but have been looking for that stamp for over a year. All of these are really, really tough!! Ray

Ray -I've picked up a few over the years, but not difficult stuff, and I've never really, really searched. They don't turn up very often in GB auctions, compared to French, Portuguese and Belgian colonies.

Small world. I picked up the Latin America and Middle East lots from the same auction. The Middle East even included Syria 106c! I have been busy working through the LatAm last several days. Have finished up through Guatemala, and already used up about a pack and a half of hinges putting into my main BB. I think there was 1 stamp which was in the wrong place otherwise 100% complete through 1930. I'm extremely satisfied with these 2 lots. The biggest boost to my collection all year and at a great price.

Ray, the Asia lot is extremely impressive. May I ask what lot was the Spanish Guinea in? I don't see a lot for Spain or Africa. Also Curacao? Again don't see lots for Netherlands or Caribbean. There was also an amazing lot for Portugal (#1460) and France Colonies (#1043) although that one seemed incomplete. My LatAm lot did not include Cuba so not sure which lot that ended up in. Maybe we can figure out all the lots which the collection was split into.

Only posting higher letter countries because I already raided Argentina through Guatemala.
