Don't worry about the New Collectors and New Readers here they are getting a education ,but it is not the education you want .

They see I asked a question and posted my stamp with no intelligent discussion about the differences from the 76 readers of this who viewed this page. Then after the second stamp posted I said it was a Fake . Then another 52 readers still didn't discuss the differences until a new member finally came on agree with me . Yea they got a education here but not the one you think . They found out that the regular members who are viewing this stick their head in the sand or attack the messenger .........128 members views and nobody can discuss the difference of the scans
See and you think I don't help educate the new viewers -really.

This is really ridiculous. And it does a disservice to the original poster. Their 524a pair is genuine and to come here and just state that it is not because you say so is complete BS. The claim is utterly baseless and can be damaging if a collector throws aside hundreds of dollars because of some vague declaration by a forum poster who really knows very little or nothing about the issue. It is tiresome.

I know this issue specifically. I specialized in Russia and built a six figure collection including these issues. My examples had Rossica certificates. I worked with Nikolai from Raritan along with a prominent Russian expert to learn and build my collection.

I did not reply to this post just to hear myself talk. I wanted to help someone and use the knowledge given to me by others, to pass it on.

If somebody has very specific reasons why they think that it is fake than state them. Otherwise they should apologize for mucking up the thread and/or move on IMHO.

Things like this are getting to be really, really tiresome and are a gigantic time suck.

Here is a THIRD copy of the stamp with my second copy . Then tell me about the straight even horizontal lines my copy has to your thick in places and missing lines in the sky . Then lets talk about the clear horziontal lines on the side of the building .on my three stamps and that imperf pair with blurred and spotty ink spots on the building . GO AHEAD talk about the stamps and not about me ,new collectors want to learn something .

The op's pic is poor quality.low pixels can trick one's interpretation.Merged lines,
blured areas, alternating thick and thin lines...
A new clear high resolution pic will solve the issue I think.

So I conclude genuine versus forgery is based on scanning ability.

Floortrader. AGAIN you make a post without ANY text or description. THIS IS UTTER BS. I don't have any knowledge of Russian stamps. I don't collect Russian stamps. but posts like this are totally worthless.

Why can't is just be as simple as a post of
Here is a genuine stamp with the following characteristics: and
Here is a fake pointing out its characteristics:
And here is the literature citation to back it up.
Why is fuzzy real or genuine? Who else says so?

How about this?

The stamps go to Nikolai at Raritan or Paul at Cherrystone to determine authenticity and if found to be genuine Floortrader donates $10,000 to this forum.

Following @perf12 advice on better quality scans, here is what I could come up with:

I also never thought my topic would cause so much heated debate,so I thank everyone, and apologize at the same time.

Thanks for the scan Barg. No need for you to apologize for anything. It should be settled but probably not. As I said in the beginning it is a nice pair with good margins. If I was still collecting Russia, I would put it in my collection.

What a bunch of clowns ----- You put up a first scan it has the wrong color and is out of focus and ask if it is real ? then you don't like the answer , now I see a different scan more in focus and better color after you all telling me I was wrong ...........the second scan changes my opinion .
In Chicago we call it baiting someone to be wrong . .

The first answer (mine) was correct. There never was another real answer, only baseless declarations.

Not sure who the are. Everybody except for you?
