The 2d adhesive is postmarked with a 'TRAVELLING P.O. No1 NORTH B' and beside it is another cds (the following day) 'TRAVELLING P.O. No1 SOUTH A'.

As I understand it, the letter was processed 'UP' to Sydney on the Hamilton - Sydney train where the adhesive was cancelled and 'DOWN' to Bowral where the second cds was applied, this on the Goulburn train.

Am I correct?

I think you are correct 64idgaf.

Nice cover! I don't recall seeing 2 different TPO cancels on the one cover before.

Good question Rod!

I've no idea what it says, but it looks contemporaneous to me.

Wonderful coincidence to have "North" and "South" cancels along with "boomerang" as part of the address!

The crayon almost looks like "2d to pay" as a due marking.

Hehe had completely missed that!

Early Australian homes, often had (and still do) have plaques near the front door
naming the residence.
First time I have seen "Boomerang" though.

The most oft seen is "EMOH RUO"

Ha!

Over here the most common I've seen is Carinya, indigenous for 'happy home'.

Yes, seen a few CARINYA

I was a Real Estate Agent for several decades
Mount Hawthorn , North Perth etc, mainly Federation Architecture
and Home plaques.
Mount Lawley was the preferred address, some breath taking homes
up there, with appropriate price tags.
Some names in the leadlights above the doors..
