Trying to ID the place of cancel in this weak strike on a French stamp. Looks to me like it says LGORGE, but I've not found such a placename. The next step was to try the department, but only a fraction of it shows at bottom. That name seems to end with the letter C. BUT I find no French department whose name ends with C. Can someone help me please? My thanks in advance for any succor.

Sounds like a pretty good guess to me. Could be that the HE got lost in that weak strike at bottom. Many thanks!

Nice little stamp. Sort of timely with the balloon hijinks going on right now in the U.S.

Every time I get a place-cancel identified it feels like I have vicariously visited that town. And it also makes that stamp really meant for real postal duty and not just something made to sell to us stamp-collectors. Thanks again for your help.
