Hi there, for those who expressed interest in my project to create a photographic exhibition with stamps and people from the countries....
To catch up: I have
inherited some old stamp albums and as a photographic artist I am planning a project to interview and photograph people from all the countries represented, looking at migration, war, conflict and independence.
Step 1 - I have just audited the albums at a high-level and now I have a list of all the countries represented in this album. There are, however additional stamps not in this album that I will be adding, from Israel and Australia to name a few. There is not much representation from the Middle East in the collection, and also not much from Asia. So I will go back through the other albums and see if I can plug any gaps.
I downloaded a list of all the countries and dependencies first, then worked my way through the first (oldest) album to check which ones I had and also the oldest stamp in each country.
The results are here, and where a country has changed names or no longer exists I have captured that information also.
