Hello, I have registered in the forum to solve doubts about my collection of iranian stamps of the late 1800's, and early 1900, I have read in a catalog Scott that many of that epoch were falsified.
I hope someone can help me detect these counterfeits, it would also help if someone could share a specialized catalog in Iran.
thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Indeed, classic Persian stamps are rife with forgeries. I think most here would refer you to https://www.persi.com/PersiHome.html for all things Persia/Iran.

Welcome to SCF!

Check out the archived posts about Iran stamps; they might help. You are welcome to ask questions here about specific stamps you may have. Just provide clear images where details are visible.

Persiphila now only provides PDF catalogs. They are not the cheapest but are well-detailed. Their Qajar Dynasty catalog is probably the one most useful for you.

Welcome. I hope you have the ability to scan your items. If you can post nice, big scans, you can get some great input here.

As just one example of many, check out this thread, if you haven't seen it yet:

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
