I bought a postcard on ebay from Latvia on Feb. 6. It left Latvia and arrived in LA on Feb. 12th and hasn't moved since. Is there a way to light a fire under ISC, USPS? I tried to reach Customer Service at USPS but the response was it wasn't I guess delayed long enough. At what point does it get to be too long? The item is a small stiff envelope with one postcard inside and maybe the packing slip. Thanks.

It can sit there for a long time. Problem is that USPS really has no authority or jurisdiction to intervene with CBP even though the ISC is a collaborative effort. I have had them sit for over a month.

Checked tracking just now and it finally made it to Milwaukee after it's 3 week vacation in LA. Now all I have to do is watch out for the mail person in case they want a signature.

Great news John. In the distant past I used to not give a second thought as to whether or not a piece of mail would make it to me. Now I have a constant nagging doubt. Times change.

For sure times change. I've seen USPS screw up both coming and going. I sell a variety of things on ebay and watch the tracking every day. It's surprising how 'scenic' a route some of the mail has taken.

Mail from Europe to the U.S. is a crapshoot. I generally get stuff from France in two weeks or less, but I'm still waiting for something from the U.K. that I paid for on December 19th (11 weeks ago). No tracking on it, so I have no clue when (or if) it might be delivered.

This year I had a First-Class envelope with a check in it take seven weeks to get from Upstate NY to MA. By that time, it had a stop payment placed on it and a replacement sent FedEx. Sorry to those who have different opinions but IMO the USPS sucks.
