I received wonderful and informative responses when I posted about a proof sheet here: https://goscf.com/t/78841

In the responses the 6 pence was not mentioned. Thus I am posting this to learn more. I still am not a PIE nor Canada specialist.

Besides welcoming your general comment about this item, I was wondering if the die proof was pulled contemporaneously to the creation of the stamp plate or if such items were pulled much later for some reason by the printing organization or the Post Office.

Also a general price range of a single die price/interest comparison between the plate and die proofs. Can I assume that the die proof in this area carries the same general interest as with early US material?

I'm no expert on Canada, but it appears to be a later reprint.

Deveney Stamps currently have a set of ten die proof reprints in different colours available for CAD 70:

All info that I can find points to the pictured item being a reprint from the 1940's using the original dies. I chose the listing below to publish here but there are numerous similar results available.

Quote:
6d Queen Victoria set of ten REPRINT DIE PROOFS, all in different colours; a selection of the dies/plates used to print the stamps of Prince Edward Island were presented to the RPSL following the death of Charles Whiting, but several remained in private hands, including those for the 6d stamp. Private reprints were made in the 1940s to raise money for the British Red Cross.

I don't claim special expertise in Canada, but, I have quite a bit, and a fair amount of literature, some of which I've read. I agree with the above.
