Hello, I have popped on to this forum in the hope of gaining some information on an interesting piece of ephemera I found at a jumble sale! It is beautifully embossed and I believe it to be Victorian. It has the names Charles Whiting and Beaufort House on the reverse. I would like it to find an appreciative home but have no idea of it's value or of it's origins and purpose/use.
Any information would be gratefully received!

You lucky devil !
Beautiful stuff, I don't often experience envy.

Lovely scans to boot.

I would recommend placing in a well regarded auction house
This needs to be cared for, by an experienced collector.

Engine turning at its peak.
The embossing is exquisite.

Interesting study on Her Majesty's profile.

It reveals the early (and correct) orientation of the bust,
however, it does not show well "in balance" it looks "tilted backwards".

This was corrected with the Penny Black.

Thank you all for your encouraging and helpful comments! As it was loose in the box, I'm surprised it is in such good condition! I was going to frame it but it needs to go to a collector really.
