I have had these stamps I inherited from my grandma for a while now and thought I'd have them checked. Can anyone tell me if any of these are valuable please?
Opinion: The "cinderellas" (seals etc in first two) are fabulous. would look great properly mounted, lots of history Value: $2 -$5 each for the better ones
The rest (stamps) fairly valueless as most are damaged. (Nice couple of "G" perfins)
I's be keeping them all in rememberance of Grandma
The Queen Victoria (last stamp) just a silly phantasie
The first two pictures are not stamps. At best, they are labels if not just stickers.
As 22crows wrote, that last stamp is the issue to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the first issue of the Penny Red, in 1841.
The other stamps are mostly 1940s Irish and UK stamps. Alas, they are in terrible condition. It looks like they are glued to the paper. Those stamps have no monetary value at all.
Similar stamps were issued a year earlier for the Penny Black and Two Pence Blue. Neither Royal Mail's stamp bulletin, nor the Bookmark Journal discusses the choice of the check letters.
I have a strong suspicion TH stands for Tallents House in Edinburgh, the premises of the philatelic bureau.
