"someone spots them and keeps the flame going" First scan is the page as I acquired it - who know when/where it was put together. Second scan is a bit closer on the stamps. Never had the heart to take them off the original page. |

"MOSTRA" is the word we Catalans use for "SPECIMEN" or "Sample". Specimen of 1980 cinderellas on Catalonia's history, showing two samples of Greek sculpture in our country. |

I have these three Tuvalu Specimen sheets, that I tried to sell on ebay, without success. I guess Specimen sheets must not be worth anything. But I figured I'd upload the picture to share on here, anyway. |

@ConnieR.
Tuvalu stamps overprint SPECIMEN & color prograssive proof are kind of common philatelic material...these are not really valuable investment item. |

A page of SPECIMENS from my web site. These are from the 1943 series of U.S. state revenues ("State of New York Stock Transfer Tax Stamps"). They're not overly impressive in style or history but at least they have some color in them, I suppose! Kurt Edit: should have probably included this, too, in case anyone wants to know a whole lot more: http://myplace.frontier.com/~ktk.la...ax/index.htm |

Hard to believe this thread has sat for over two years. Time flies. Picked up a set of the four KGV Jubilees from Grenada recently. Here is one of the values: (That's not a valuable plate flaw...I noticed a little extra string of Mylar on the scan.) |

I went through this thread and saw many, many specimens that I did not know existed. Thanks to everyone for contributing. My example was just purchased today, and I barely noticed the Specimen in the upper left upon first view. It almost looks like it was deliberately hidden. Pretty neat! (Scott 1043) |
