Hi folks,

Despite searching around, even in Danish (not my strongest language), I cannot find an online resource for Denmark's postal rates up to the end of World War Two.

Does anyone have this information? I'm most interested in the Christian X stamps (image below) - what service was paid for each denomination?

Is Tester's work available as a PDF?

Any help, as always, would be much appreciated

Hi Bobby,
No Denmark in Billigs.
It appears to be a very involved history,
Have a spare 500 Euros?

Complex indeed Rod, but I don't need the parcel rates to Tanzania in 1975

Sometimes things can get way too complicated!

There is a PDF covering the rates from 1851 to 1905 that's freely available and it runs to 326 pages, but does cover the whole world. Alas it cuts off about 30 years too early.

Indeed, success from endeavor.
Strange though, Denmark seems a strange dish, from your menu.

I worked for a couple of Danish firms back in the day (too bad they weren't making danishes). There's also the tie-in with the British with Queen Alexandra.

The Danes have an interesting monarchical history, and I do like those Christian X stamps

Bobby De La Rue: Did you get the answer to your original question about the postal rates for which each Chr-X stamp was issued?

"rod222" posted an image from my website describing two editions of the book that lists this information in the format you are seeking.

A link to my web page is here with current information:

If you are still pursuing and collecting this subject, I would be happy to assist you. Please get in touch.

Jay Smith

Thanks Jay, I have enough information to keep me quiet!

NB: The link above to the 1953 book is no longer valid.
