I can't figure this one out. Both the stamp and the cancel are printed on the envelope, the word Palestine is not in English, and the envelope paper has embedded silver glitter. It may just be a souvenir and not real stationery and the back is partly missing, so I don't know whether it is worth putting on ebay or if it goes in the paper recycle pile.

That imprinted stamp is a fantasy item. The text is gibberish.

A SS Exeter was built by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Co in 1945. This may be some kind of publicity item. The Bethlehem cancellation may be a reference to the constructor, not to the town. An older ship with the same name was torpedoed in 1942 but built by another shipbuilder. It did sail from Palestine.

It would be interesting to know whether this item, indeed, dates to 1937, or is a post-war item.

Can't find a Zenith, Ohio on any map. And the surname "Blank" seems a little too on the nose.

I agree, it is completely a fantasy/spoof item.

Here is a similar one from about the same time:

This is certainly the era where huge numbers of philatelic event covers were made including amusing fantasies for banquets, shows, and other events.

I see these as highly collectible and *not* recycle bin material..

Theater or film props, perhaps? I certainly wouldn't throw it away.

Looking at the early December date could it be a Christmas souvenir for pilgrims to Bethlehem?

I agree the item is fantasy, but its pseudo-stamp is very resembles, in color, value and design, to the real stamp issued for use in the British Mandate on Palestine, shows the Tomb of Rachel in Bethlehem:

The moon resembles the sun in shape, colour and in being extraterrestrial. Yet, there is little probability of confusing them. The fantasy item and the stamp have very little in common.
