Looking For A Canada Sc842 Perfin

Hi,

I have been trying to find locally a copy of any Sc842 perfin stamp. To date my efforts have been uncessful. Any help to find one would appreciated. I am prepared to pay a reasonable price for it.

That seems late for a perfinned stamp.
Curious to know your reasons to find one, if you care to disclose.

Guess your best bet is WW/JR (Wrigley) exists on a #790 if I am reading
the catalogue correctly (Canada)

The Canadian postage stamp 842 was issued on Oct 17, 1979.

Three perfins were issued by CNR; Toronto (C24), Vancouver (C26) and Winnipeg (C28).

A few years ago, I made a study on numerous varieties related to the 842. The results were published on September 2019, in a French language review called Philabec. Access to this publication is freely accessible to all at Philabec.com

A collegue helped me finding the necessary material to complete this study. He collects Canadian perfins. However he does not write nor speak English. As a thank you for his help, I would like to offer him one missing perfin or all three if available.

Any help in finding one or all three would be appreciated.

Why does someone not invent a device to prevent leaning binders ?
I have those plastic bookends, but they are clunky.
Something like my ratchet wood clamps would be nice.

Lots of people have. Here's a small listing of carved bookends, from horses to hoots! They do use space for about 3 more volumes however.

My library is always in flux, take out 2 or 3 albums to work on,
and there they go, all the rest begin to lean.

I was envisaging a small ratchet "spreader" you could slip in the gap.

I use wood clamps (reversing the grips) as a spreader for my renovation work.
I may even try and make a jerry built one, as a test.

I have noted libraries have a sunken ratchet strip along the base of the shelf
and the bookends click to suit.

Here is the only Canada Scott 842 perfin that I have seen.

Perfin C28 in position/rotation 1.



In reference to book ends...this is what I use...

This is the price at 'Staples' in the USA.

The enameled ones are more than suitable, and are manufactured in plastic or acrylic and work well and are manufactured in many sizes. They are more economical than the stainless ones; unless you store your stamps in a damp place. We hope not.

The plastic bookends could not handle it.
