Hi everybody - Has anybody else recently bought showgard mounts with a gap in the back split? I usually buy a pack of the 22/25 black mounts from a Hobby Lobby when nearby, but last few packs have been like this.
Are they production flaws or are they meant to be like this now.... not good. Here's a pic :

My guess is that it is a manufacturing error. Showgard mounts are my mount of choice, and I use them BECAUSE OF the black background - I feel it sets off the stamp nicely from the white album page. Having this small gap means that black surrounding the stamp is now interrupted. Yuck.

There should be no gap between the backing. Obviously production flaw or seconds, or lack of quality control. I would go and talk with retailer about it because they may not have noticed it in sealed packs.

I wonder if this is, in the words of George Costanza, "shrinkage" in post-production due to storage or transit in temperature extremes.

Thanks for your replies... I'll have to return them as soon as I can.
The Showgard mounts at Hobby Lobby are sold in a resealable bag, not blister packs anymore, oddly enough.

Shrinkage can be embarrassing.
