Good Evening,

Here is a very light re-entry within the left frame of a U.S. 1913-15 434 stamp. I don't see anything in Scott Catalogue about it. I'm looking for opinions and making scans and notes of it's existence. The line gets fainter as it goes from bottom to top. Maybe it's common, maybe not - I just don't know. Maybe someone here will spot something more!

Not sure where this topic will lead - but please keep your comments in regards to this stamp only.

Thanks!

French's Encyclopedia of US Plate Varieties does not note anything for Scott 434, or 473. You might try US Stamp Society (USStamps.org) and search The United States Specialist, their monthly journal. Otherwise good luck

If it is a re-entry and not a burr line.

This doesn't give the appearance of a re-entry. It looks more like a scribe line to me. Interesting, and a keeper, but very little extra value.

Abraham Maslow wrote in 1966, "If the only tool you have is a hammer, it is tempting to treat everything as if it were a nail." It appears souldjer777 has replaced the hammer with "re-entry" and thus he claims all are re entries in spite of the many educational comment he has received in his many similar threads.
