Rick Barrett is a philatelic historian, and author of "Buffalo Cinderellas" He is giving a talk this Wednesday about Ralph A. Kimble, the "stamp man" of 1930s radio (WMAQ in Chicago) and later editor of the American Philatelist for several years both before and after WWII. It is likely to be fact-filled and entertaining. Barrett does a thorough job of researching his talks. There is a previous thread on Ralph Kimble on this forum.

Anybody know if any of those old radio programs are available online somewhere? If someone attends the talk, it would be helpful to know if that topic is touched on.

The transcripts of most of those talks are in the American Philatelic Library. Rick has looked for recordings, but so far, no luck. He will address this issue in his talk, I believe. Kimble's book "Commemorative Postage Stamps of The United States, first published in 1933, is based for the most part, on these talks. A revised edition was published in 1936. Publisher in both cases was Grosset & Dunlap.Interesting book.
