Philatelic New Guinea FDC for the Coronation of King George VI, Registered and originating from Rabaul, New Guinea, addressed to New Jersey USA.
Tied with a full set of the adhesives, and showing three "Rabaul New Guinea 18th May 37 CDS's". Back stamped with an arrival CDS what appears to read "Penns Grove N.J".
One of the stamps is also cancelled with a barred ovoid shape cachet with the number 1 in the centre. I have not seen this cachet on a New Guinea cover before. Can anyone enlighten me as to its use? It may have been applied in the USA. Any help would be appreciated.

It appears to me to be part of a typical US canceller as shown below (image courtesy of member John Becker)

51studebaker - thank you very much, after seeing your scan I think we have solved the problem. Obviously a receiving cachet.

John Becker - agree a like button would be good.
