Have you ever heard of stamptrade.nl ? It's a global stamp trading platform from the Netherlands on the internet in which you identify stamps you have to trade (many, many images are already there, if not, you can add one) and then you select what you want from others' images. Just curious as to your experience, understanding, etc., thanks,

I have never heard of this before, but I made an account because it sounded interesting. I think the site needs some improvements, I went to add some stamps from the US to my trade list, and it turns out the list is not sorted in any way. I would have to visually inspect thousands of images to see if the stamp I wanted was there, and that is just not going to work. Granted I just started looking at the site so maybe there is a way to sort that I'm not familiar with. If anyone has used this site and has an answer to this, I'd be interested in knowing more.

I never use a website unless I agree with their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. In this case, they have not even bothered to post any; meaning they can do anything they want with the information they collect on you. And this and the fact that they are clearly a commercial site, I assume the worse. Not for me. Don |

Thanks stamperJD and 51studebaker, your replies were both along the lines of what I was thinking, especially after I couldn't find any discussion of the group with the search function, Ralph |

New to this community I came across this discussion from half a year ago or so. I'm actually using stamptrade.nl for 4-5 months now and have exchanged over 3000 stamps through this platform. At first, I got lost too in the 'by country catalogues' but once you know your way better (eg by setting the catalogue you use, filtering out what you have already...) it becomes quite a handy tool. Of course, there surely are things that can be improved (like a better catalogue structure or some cleaining every now and then), but from what i've learned the site is the work of one Dutch guy with a passion for stamp collecting (and a large IT knowledge). I've become a big fan of the site, and would love to see it grow with a more global participation (currently most members are from the Netherlands or Belgium). Happy collecting :) |

Just came across this and made an account on Stamp Community in order to reply! I am from Canada, and use stamptrade.nl all the time. Definitely not a scam site... but a great site built by a stamp enthusiast from the Netherlands. Navigation takes a little bit to get used to, but it is a fantastic site for trading, and quite addictive once you get started I might add! Check it out and if you want to swap stamps with a Canuck, my username on the site is Sambo. would be great to have more users from this continent on board. Message me if you have any questions about it... Cheers |
