What do you all think of this postcard? I thought it was funny, is this the 1917 version of a phone *omitted* service? For those with bad eyes the card reads: "Dear Edna, May I call you "Edna?" I'm a lonely soldier boy and I would be very glad indeed to correspond with you. What would you care to exchange? Mostly myself I'd like to exchange personal photos and letters if you want. I am 21 years of age. With best wishes"

Love that card. Not so much because of the message, but one does not very often see a card from the Canal Zone mailed from fairly unknown cities

Odd that the writer did not identify himself by name.

Since the writer indicated he was a soldier, could the "U.S.C.E." be "United States Corps of Engineers"?

The "4256" is too few digits to be a military ID, perhaps a code to a name in a pen-pal newsletter?
