Hello

Please could someone explain the correct term I should use for the piece of paper that is found immediately to the left, right, up or down of the stamp perforation. So for example in the pics below it's the little white section below the 5c and above the 11c. Is this referred to as a join, a margin or something else completely? Sorry for the newbie question but still learning
