I'm moving older stamps of Germany from Scott to Steiner pages and find reference to two Germania stamps - Scott A16 of 1902 and Scott A22 of 1916-19.

In comparing the two sample Pics in the Scott catalog, I just can't see any difference. What am I missing?

Thank you all!

The later type A22 lacks the shading lines around the portrait.

WOW, you are certainly correct! My problem is that the two pics in the Scott 2013 specialized catalog both appear to have shading, but under a magnifier the later one does not.

Thank you, sometimes the obvious just escapes me.
