The Local Type L-6E and the Bureau Type 44 from Birmingham AL are excruciatingly similar. The latter is fairly rare (certainly rarer than the former).

I have been using Gunesch's descriptions PLUS the fact that few stamps were created using both of these types in order to differentiate my *modest* accumulation.

But I have run into a problem.

Brunell does not list the 10c 1926 as having been produced using L-6E. But the Bureau stamp is a $1 type and therefore should not be common as muck.

I have about 12 of this stamp which seems a high number for a "modest" accumulation and a "rarer" Bureau ... so can anyone confirm that they actually hold or know of an L-6E of this type?
