Newfoundland #128 Forgery?

I understand that this stamp has been forged, and letters without square edges, as well as watery under inked areas are indicative of forged stamps. There is some watery ink, but the letters do seem to have square edges. Any opinions?

I am not sure. Two suggestions for further research:

A. The latest Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC) is a worthy investment and has details about this--granular detail and it the NSSC is updated as new info comes to light
B. Ed Wener is the top expert on Newfoundland forgeries. Great guy though I never met him; lived and died in New Zealand--trivial tangent. You can find it here:

Scroll to the bottom page 33 and he has a paragraph on this stamp. One of his tells of a forgery is watery and under inked areas. And the shape of the H.
