Hello,
On and off collector of US and Singapore stamps. I recently reopened my account on postcrossing. It is a random postcard swap around the world.

I used to purchase US plateblocks from a company in Leawood KS. Very reasonable. I think think the owner retired.

On occasion, I buy on ebay plateblocks for $1 with minimal shipping charge.
Any suggestions for alternative? I recently bought from cybercoins. I hope they are reliable.

Eric

Thank you!! I read on Redditt, that someone reached out to Plate Block Stamp Company via Facebook (not a member of either). answer was no response from the company. I think the owner was in his 80s in 2012 because I called him when I visited KC in 2013. KC is a nice laid-back city.

Hi James, The plate block Scott numbers: 1183 Kansas, 1272 Traffic. I like Singapore water vessels and King George VI used or mnh. I don't mind dupes. Obsessed. I keep it in check. My limited monthly SS stipend.

plateblockusfan,

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game. Wonderful you are carrying on your father's collection. You are the next steward of a family treasure you can pass on to future generations. Its value as a family heirloom wil always surpass it monetary value.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Kansas City's laidbackness must be a far cry from the wide-open place of the Pendergast era, with its incomparable jazz.

Hi friend. Just wondering if there is an updating or revised listing for Durland--mine is 1977?

Thank you Mr. Becker. There are 2 books that look interesting. I've gravitated 10 yrs. ago to plate blocks because single stamps seem so final. That's in re. to modern. I sometime find myself buying the same stamp multiple times due to the eye-appeal: Kansas Statehood and Traffic Safety.
I like C76 Man on the Moon.I also have multiples of Austria Drug Awareness Scott 938. I have FDC from Singapore because I visited there twice. I like Ceylon tea theme stamps and a few US FDC. I also have mint sheets too. I store them in binders. So I have a mish mash of stamp interest.
