I acquired this stamp over 50 years ago but never had it expertised.
Is there an Iceland specialist out there who would make some observations about it and suggest whether I should persue it further? All comments welcomed..

I think your example has some 'quality' issues that may mean you will pay more for expertisation than it will be worth in this state.

Edit: Those brown stains, are they hinges showing through the stamp? If the colour is on the front of the stamp, it may be a later issue (1901?) that changed (most of) its colour..

erm, text in band says 3sk, so can't be later issue.

Stamp is lineperforated, perfs looks ok, aside from the few missing ones.

the color is faded/washed.

cancellation is most likely a danish numeral 1 cancel, those are fairly common, but you can't determine it because the center is missing.

all in all, below average quality, and not worth expertizing in my book.

look for a danish auction house and buy one, they aren't expensive and often in much better quality.
