A while back I was given a huge box of US and world. Lots of cool stuff, covers, cool stuff on piece...also included was the Scott national album, hardback, unused. Package of pages for 1975 issues. I therefore decided to do US through 1975 (not much I care about beyond that era). Have set a short-term goal of completing 1935-1975 100%.

For world, I do Germany and area, Commonwealth, Asia, and lots more besides...there were tons of killer pre-1940 stamps in this collection.

Also lots of plate blocks and FDC, but I'll probably trade most of them. I like SS and FDC, but not a lot of them.
Also like SS of philatelic events...I've got an album of nothing but 1939 SS!

FancyCancel,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

Welcome Fancy! It looks like you're from up north, WAYYY up North. Shreveport!

Stolen from an episode of the Cajun Cook television show which was based in Southern Louisiana. Justin Wilson, the Cajun Cook on that show, thought of Shreveport as being "way up North!"

Thanks, Peter, Russ, Shermae, Desert Dweller and Hoosierboy!
One of my oldest and dearest friends is from Vincennes...I love Indiana!
And oh yes, I'm up in the Wild West of Shreveport...helps that I'm down south a lot - currently in Lafayette. Love Justin Wilson!

Appreciate the welcome, sorting a few Germania at the moment, then some Asian...maybe a few Manchukuo in the mix...
