Stamp #518b?

1) stop referencing USA stamps with anything other than Scott numbers
2) a previous owner already marked it Scott #518, what makes you disagree with their assessment?

Put in another way:
What catalogue are you referring to?
What should make it that particular stamp rather than the basic stamp?

NO, it is NOT the color of a 518b, it is just a 518.

518b is a Scott number. it is for the deep brown variety. But the stamp shown is the normal violet brown
