Hi everyone
I'm Mike, I live in Virginia USA and just got back into stamps a few years ago. I tried collecting them when I was a kid but my Dad was Army and we'd move about every 3 years. Moving meant Poundage Allocations for household items so things like books of stamps and Baseball Cards were tossed.

Now nobody will toss them until I'm gone.

I started working on Albums reflecting the years my grand kids were born (2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010). Almost done with those (All MNH). I expanded to build a complete set of stamps issued in Virginia, I've since expanded the years to include my Daughter and Son in Law, and my Son and Daughter in Law. (4 new years to collect) These will sort of be a legacy to each of them once I'm gone because they certainly ain't getting much cash.

On the long term, I might just dabble into collecting Disney stamps from around the world. I'm already got most of the USA ones, just need a few sheets to add. Also have a whole lot of partial sets from other countries to kick things off.

OK, I've rambled on long enough.
Say hi if you dare.

MikeyToo

PS; the name Mikeytoo was chosen because plane Mikey was always being used by someone before me.

MikeyToo,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ

The Disney stamps catalog lists 7164 Disney stamps. https://stampsbooks.com/disney-stamps/
I'd say this is more than dabbling. Disney stamps seem to be liked, even the infamous African countries have tons of them issued. And while I wrote this short reply, there have probably been 5-10 more Disney stamps issued....

Not to mention Disney stamps issued by British West Indies countries. Back in the 1980s before many more Disney stamps were issued throughout the 90s and 2000s, there was a stamp dealer in New York named Mom and Pop Stamps. They sold exclusively Disney stamps and always had a very active table at local stamp shows of the time.

Hello Mikey and welcome. I dabbled in Disney for a while, but it was like standing against a tidal wave of new issues coming out. One couldn't keep up. Of course, it's the same with almost all new issues.
